Patricia Smyth, DDS
Dr. Smyth graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She continued her education at Creighton University Dental School, in Omaha, Nebraska after which she continued her studies with Pierre Fauchard Fellowship in general dentistry in Chicago, Illinois.
She practiced for the next seven years in Chicago with her emphasis on cosmetic dentistry before returning to Utah.
She opened her practice in 2000 in Ogden, Utah and enjoys meeting her patients to give them the best dental care possible.
Dr. Smyth specializes in beautifying smiles, maintaining your dental health, and helping you improve your appearance. Our experienced and friendly staff takes great pride in keeping your smile beautiful and healthy.

Marangeli Pagan DMD
Dr. Marangeli Pagan grew up in Puerto Rico. She received her dental degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. She has ten years of experience as a Dentist. After practicing for five years in her own dental office in Puerto Rico, Dr. Pagan and her family moved to New Jersey where she practiced for another five years as a General Dentist. She recently moved to Utah and is very excited to start practicing with Platinum Dental.
Dr. Pagan and her husband along with her two daughters love the mountains, hiking and biking, as well as other outdoor activities. She loves to do crossfit every morning before heading to the office.
Elise Kobe, DDS

Luis Franco, DDS
Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University.
He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.
Devin Christiansen, DMD
Dr Devin Christiansen was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. He attended Weber State University where he got a degree in Microbiology. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville, and went on to specialize in the field of Periodontics and earned a Masters Degree in Oral Biology at the University of Nebraska. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Utah School of Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Christiansen enjoys spending time with his wife Halee and 3 kids – Davis, Madison, and Janie.
Shaun Heward, DMD
Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School.
While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas.
When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.
Dr. Daniel Burstein, DDS
Born in Santiago, Chile in 1960 and raised in the USA, he is fluent in both English and Spanish. He completed his education in California, becoming an Orthodontist in 2020, and has owned and operated his own practice in Atlanta since 1995. Recently joining Platinum, he brings expertise in expanders, habit appliances, braces, bite correctors, in-house aligners, and Invisalign.
His passion for providing orthodontic care without the distraction of running a private practice led him to join Platinum, where he looks forward to collaborating with other dental professionals and participating in interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment plans.
Dr. Kirk Anderton, Orthodontist
Dr. Kirk Anderton is a Utah native, grew up in American Fork, Utah and graduated with a major in Zoology from BYU. Dr. Anderton, or Dr. A, graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and then attended West Virginia University Medical Center where he received a masters degree in Orthodontics. Dr. A and his wife Bonnie have been married for almost forty years. They have six children and four grandchildren that are scattered across the United States. They live in southern Utah.
Dr. Anderton has many hobbies and interests, chief among them are his modest car collection, guitars, rock and roll memorabilia, BYU athletics, snow and water skiing, woodworking, gardening, travel and others.
His greatest passion is orthodontics. There is nothing more rewarding than the successful treatment of someone’s teeth or the joy and change that it brings to the life and face of a patient. His goal is and has always been to provide the highest quality care to every patient in a caring and fun environment.
